"WILFRED LYLE VAN WIG SR.
Wilfred Lyle Van Wig Sr., 81, of 12655 2nd St., Yucaipa, died Saturday in Alhambra. A native of Ontario, he was a former resident of San Bernardino and had lived in Yucaipa three years.
A retired businessman he was a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West and the Optimist Club. He belonged to St. John's Episcopal Church in San Bernardino.
Survivors include a son, Lyle Jr., of Alhambra; two daughters, Mrs. Laurel V. Somers and Mrs. Lois B. Harper of Los Angeles; a brother, Kenneth, of Inglewood; two sisters, Mrs. Maude B. Roe of San Bernardino and Mrs. Stella McCutcheon of Ojai; three granddaughters, five grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grove Colonial Mortuary with the Rev. Richard C. Willars of St. Francis Episcopal Church, San Bernardino, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery."
Gertrude Ethel (Troop) Van Wig was the mother of Fred's children. [1]
